The avoidance of deeper thoughts and feelings, and indoctrinated to consume of the commonly forced - no matter whether it is clothes, drugs or other people - is shocking for me, but on the other side only a slightly more pointed illustration of the / my current reality. It was only a small leap from the pleasure drug Soma in the book to my own disastrous relationship with alcohol. During the term "holiday from reality" for a Somarausch I realized that I was trying to achieve the same with alcohol. Am I really so weak that I regularly from my thoughts "leave" (- to make it sound more elegant than it is) must take?
